Austin's LatinWorks buys Dallas ad agency (Austin American Statesman) – In its first acquisition, LatinWorks has bought Dallas-based Cultura. Both agencies focus on the Hispanic market, primarily designing ads in Spanish.
Jennifer Lopez's reality, coming to TV (New York Daily News) – J. Lo is the co-creator and executive producer of the show, which is expected to deal with her marriage to Latino singer Marc Anthony, their twins Maximilian David and Emme Maribel, born in February, and her careers in music, film and fashion.
Nielsen Adds ESPN Deportes to Hispanic Ratings Tracking Service (TVweek) – Nielsen will begin tracking ratings for ESPN Deportes, the sports network’s 24-hour Spanish language outlet. Numbers for the channel will be included in the Nielsen Homevideo Index Hispanic Service.
Karina Pasian (Billboard) – "I wanted to go with Def Jam because they made the best offer," says the New Yorker. "The only request I voiced was that my music have integrity, and that my songs have messages, morals and values." On June 3rd, the Dominican-American singer will release her debut album, "First Love."
Disney Jumps into Hispanic Custom Publishing Market (Portada) – Disney en Familia will publish its premier “Back to School” issue July 14. The magazine will be completely Spanish language, offering parenting tips, recipes, party ideas, learning fun, travel tips, and ideas for preserving cultural traditions.
