This Week in Las Noticias

Domino's Delivers in Spanish (Adweek) - This month, Domino's Pizza is becoming one of the first companies to serve up an automated language ordering system catering to Spanish-dominant Hispanics. The move is part of a push to target the fast-growing U.S. Latino population.

After Frida (New York Times) - There can be watershed moments, and for me, ‘Inverted Utopias’ signaled a shift in perceptions within the field,” Olga Viso, an American of Cuban descent who is director of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, told me. “It aggressively attacked many stereotypes of Latin American art. It was eye-opening for those who don’t know and affirming for those of us who always believed these artists should get a voice.”

Dealing With Diversity (Tire Review Online) - Some tire dealers are trying to replicate a few programs offered to them by their suppliers. Others are hiring employees who can relate to specific groups, such as the Hispanic populations in Southern California, and are mounting advertising and promotion campaigns targeted to these groups.

Marketing to Hispanics (Fox Business) - The Hispanic online market is already huge and getting huger quickly; half of the 44 million Hispanics in the United States are online, and according to the most recent data available from Forrester Media, PC ownership among Hispanics shot up 45% from October 2005 to January 2007.

Provost-pilot has high hopes for National Hispanic University (San Jose Mercury News) - When David Lopez, the president of National Hispanic University, was searching for an academic co-pilot last summer, he didn't know he'd get the real thing.
